MinecraftStatus · public instrument 01

A status claim is only as good as its evidence window.

Run a server protocol observation, then read exactly what answered, when it was observed, and when the claim expires. Measured, not guessed.

Run a bounded server observationProtocol probe · on request
Edition / protocol

A result is a timestamped network observation, not a promise of future availability.

Mojang and Microsoft endpoint observations

Six root endpoints, checked from one vantage point. Reachability is not the same thing as end-to-end service health.

Collecting endpoint evidence

The instrument is collecting a bounded live reading. No status claim is shown until the check completes.

Evidence Ladder

The instrument separates what it links, what it measures, what it does not measure, and the conclusion it is willing to print.

  1. Official source context

    Linked · not ingested
First-party help and incident sources are linked on the endpoint status sheet. They do not silently drive this instrument's verdict.
  2. Bounded network observation

    Collected on request
A Java handshake, Bedrock ping, or HTTPS root request is attempted through guarded, time-bounded server-side code.
  3. Functional or global health

    Not collected
No multi-region quorum, gameplay login, historical uptime series, or official incident feed is implied by a single response.
  4. Cautious conclusion

    Expires explicitly
Every verdict is bounded by observedAt and validUntil. Once time runs out, the only defensible current state is Unknown.

Claim boundary

Color never carries a verdict alone. Read the glyph, state word, method, observation time, and validity boundary together.

Independent reference targets

Convenient addresses for running the same check. This is a reference register, not a ranking or endorsement.

Operator-owned reference targets

MinecraftStatus is part of the anarchy.now network. These targets share that operator relationship; the disclosure is part of every row.

Reading the instrument

How do I check whether a Minecraft server answered?

Enter its address, select Java or Bedrock, and run the check. The instrument attempts the edition's status protocol and reports the bounded result with observed and valid-through times.

What does Unknown mean?

Unknown means no defensible current result exists: the input was unsafe or invalid, the probe could not complete, or its evidence window elapsed. Unknown is deliberately distinct from Offline.

What is a Minecraft MOTD?

The Message of the Day is server-supplied text shown in Minecraft's multiplayer list. When a server returns it, this instrument sanitizes the text before displaying it.

How do Java and Bedrock observations differ?

Java uses the status handshake, normally on port 25565. Bedrock uses a RakNet unconnected ping, normally on port 19132. The protocols are different, so the edition must be selected before measurement.

Can Offline prove that nobody can connect?

No. Offline means this vantage point received no status response during this attempt. Some servers block status pings while still accepting game connections.

How long is an observation current?

Server observations carry a short validity window, normally about 30 seconds; endpoint observations normally use 60 seconds. At expiry the interface fails closed to Unknown until refreshed.
